When my third grade teacher read Little House in the Big Woods to the class, I realized that stories are written by actual people. It was then that I first aspired to be a writer. I began writing when I was ten, nothing of great substance, of course. The story that evolved into my first novel began as a campfire story when I was thirteen.
I dabbled with writing over the years and majored in Literature at Eckerd College. Life intervened. Work and family left little time to write, until I retired. Now writing is as essential as breathing.
I live in North Florida, in a modest house in the woods. I love to grow things and share my knowledge of gardening with others, especially children. I also love to travel, home or abroad, and my small RV takes me on many adventures. It goes without saying–I love to read, to push the envelope of my mind in history, science, and every genre of literature available.
You sound very interesting, Marie! I can’t wait to spend some time reading your posts. 🙂

You children and grandchildren will really appreciate you keeping your family stories alive. Many people today seem to have little interest in their family’s past until it is too late. Also, thank you for the nice comments you left on my site. I am glad you liked the stories, even if they were a bit odd.
